Chapter 10: Sub-Frame Mounts & Suspension
Covers engine/transmission mounting hardware, front strut and suspension overhaul, stabilizer bar, cross member, and rear suspension components. Torque specs are metric N·m with kgf·m in parentheses, as printed. DOHC-only parts (heat protector, transmission damper) are called out where the manual distinguishes them; our truck is the 4A30 DOHC turbo, 3A/T automatic, 4WD configuration.
- Engine Mount & Sub Frame — engine mount bracket/mount torque and components; DOHC-only heat protector.
- Transmission Cross Members — transmission mount and 4WD transfer case cross member; DOHC-only damper.
- Data & Tools — alignment specs (toe-in/camber/caster/side slip), special tool part numbers, toe-in adjustment procedure.
- Front Strut Assembly — vehicle removal and bench disassembly of the strut, including spring compressor technique.
- Front Suspension Components — lower arm and strut bar removal procedure.
- Stabilizer Bar — bushing/link removal and 10mm paint-mark alignment note.
- Cross Member — cross member and lower arm attachment torque/components.
- Rear Suspension Components — shock, coil spring, lateral rod, upper/lower arm; ABS-vehicle rear sensor.
OCR quality summary: several torque-to-fastener pairings and a couple of tool-name-to-part-number pairings could not be confirmed from the OCR text alone and are flagged
(verify printed p.X)in the affected files (see completion report for the full list). No numeric spec was invented — where a value’s fastener assignment was unclear, the value is still listed but flagged.
