Engine coolant

ItemDetails
Coolant typeMitsubishi Long Life Coolant (both M/T and A/T)
Capacity, M/T3 Liters (3.17 US qt)
Capacity, A/T4 Liters (4.23 US qt)

Our truck runs the DOHC turbo 4A30 with 3A/T automatic — use the 4 Liter (A/T; 4.23 US qt) capacity figure.

(verified against scan p.149, 2026-08-30) — the printed table reads: Item = Engine Coolant with two sub-rows M/T and A/T; Details = “Mitsubishi Long Life Coolant” (spanning both rows); Capacity = 3 Liters for M/T (“3 Litters” as printed) and 4 Liters for A/T. The M/T = 3L / A/T = 4L pairing above is confirmed.

Coolant percentage measurement

Note: Engine must be at ambient temperature.

  1. Open Radiator Cap.
  2. Use an Antifreeze Tester and check percentage.
    • Hot weather operation: 30-40% coolant.
    • Cold weather operation: 40-60% coolant.

See Radiator Cap & Coolant for the overall percentage ratio spec and radiator cap relief pressure.
