Radiator Cap & Coolant
Component specifications
| Component | Specification |
|---|---|
| Radiator cap opening relief pressure | 74-103 kPa (0.75-1.05 kgf/cm²; 11-15 psi) |
| Coolant percentage ratio | 30-60% |
| Thermostat operating range, opening | 82±1.5-88±1.5°C (180±3-190±3°F) |
| Thermostat operating range, full open | 95°C (203°F) |
| Thermostat valve opening, maximum lift | 8mm+ (0.31 in+) |
Applies to both SOHC (XR) and DOHC turbo (VR — our truck) grades; the manual does not list separate radiator cap pressure or coolant ratio specs per valvetrain on this page.
(verified against scan p.149, 2026-08-30) — every component/spec pairing above matches the printed table exactly: Radiator Cap Opening Relief Pressure = 74-103 kPa {0.75-1.05 kgf/cm²}; Coolant Percentage Ratio = 3060; Thermostat Operating Range: Opening = 82±1.588±1.5°C, Full Open = 95°C; Thermostat Valve Opening Maximum Lift = 8mm+.
(verified against scans p.149 and p.151, 2026-08-30) — both pages read as transcribed: printed p.149’s table gives Full Open = 95°C (single value), while printed p.151’s opening-lift measurement gives “Limit: 95°~100°C” and says to replace thermostats that fail to fully open at 100°C. The difference is in the source manual itself, not an OCR artifact.
