Power Steering Hose Routing

Variant note: applicable only if the truck is equipped with power steering — see the variant note on Power Steering Rack & Pinion Assembly. This section shares printed p.304 with Power Steering Pump.

⚠️ Transmission-variant gap: the two routing variants labeled on this page are “DOHC M/T” and “DOHC M/T Late Model” — both manual-transmission callouts. No “DOHC A/T” variant appears in the OCR text, but our truck is 3A/T (automatic). Either the automatic-transmission routing is identical to one of the shown M/T variants and simply isn’t separately labeled, or an A/T-specific diagram exists elsewhere on the page/in the manual and wasn’t captured by this scan. (verify printed p.304) before assuming either M/T routing applies as-is to a 3A/T truck.

Components (as printed, split by routing variant)

DOHC M/T (base)

#Component
1Suction Hose
3Return Hose Model (T)
5Cooler Tubing
7Clip
9Pressure Tube Assembly
11Oil Reservoir

DOHC M/T — Late Model

#Component
2Return Hose (Late)
4Return Hose Model (G)
6Pressure Hose
8Return Tube
10O-Ring

OCR note: the odd/even split above (base vs. late-model column) is a reconstruction based on the interleaved numbering pattern in the scan, not an explicit in-page label pairing every item to its column. (verify printed p.304)

Torque specifications

FastenerTorque
Fastener (unlabeled)18 N·m (1.8 kgf·m; 159 in-lb)
Fastener (unlabeled)15 N·m (1.5 kgf·m; 133 in-lb)
Fastener (unlabeled)34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m; 25 ft-lb)

OCR note: fastener assignment for the torque values above is not legible from the scan. (verify printed p.304)
