Manual Transmission & Transfer Case Oil: V5M11-V5M41 Series
Manual transmission oil (V5M11 / V5M41) does not apply to our 3A/T automatic truck — see A/T Transmission Fluids for the fluid/capacity spec that actually governs our vehicle. The Transfer Case oil portion below applies directly to our truck — it’s a shared 4WD component regardless of which transmission is bolted to it.

Transmission oil level (inspection)
Vehicle must be located on a flat area.
- Remove Filler Plug.
- Oil must be internally at the level of the Filler Plug Hole. Add oil if the case is below the limit.
- Replace Filler Plug.
Transfer Case oil level (inspection)
Vehicle must be located on a flat area.
- Remove Filler Plug.
- Oil must be internally at the level of the Filler Plug Hole. Add oil if the case is below the limit.
- Replace Filler Plug.
Transmission oil replacement
Vehicle must be located on a flat area.
- Remove Filler Plug.
- Remove Drain Plug and drain oil.
- Replace Drain Plug and torque as specified.
- Add oil to Filler Plug level. Oil: 75W/85W.
- Replace Filler Plug and torque as specified.
Transfer Case oil replacement
Vehicle must be located on a flat area.
- Remove Filler Plug.
- Remove Drain Plug and drain oil.
- Replace Drain Plug and torque as specified.
- Add oil to Filler Plug level. Oil: 75W/85W.
- Replace Filler Plug and torque as specified.
Note: Never reuse Transmission Oil.
