Rocker Arm & Camshaft — DOHC

DOHC only (our truck’s configuration: 4A30 DOHC turbo). The manual states: “See first Section of this manual for Maintenance Notes” — this section is components-only; the manual does not repeat general maintenance-note boilerplate here.

Key difference from SOHC

Note: Lash adjustment is automatically set by hydraulic adjusters.

Unlike the SOHC engine (see 36-rocker-arm-camshaft-sohc.md), there is no manual valve lash procedure for DOHC — no cold-lash spec, no adjusting screw, no lock-nut torque. The hydraulic lash adjuster (item 7 below) handles this automatically.

Torque values (as scanned)

A single fragment, “T-71,” appears near the camshaft housing cover callouts on printed p.87. Not enough surrounding context survived OCR to confirm units or which fastener it applies to.

(verify printed p.87) — confirm the camshaft housing cover bolt torque; only an unreliable fragment (“T-71”) was recovered.
