Bearing removal

Tool: MB990673 (Bearing Remover).

Note: once bearings have been removed they cannot be reused.

Installation tips

  1. Use tools MB990938 and MB990926 to install new oil seal.

Note: coat the outside lip with axle grease before installation.

  1. Bearing installation press point setup — tool MB990663 (Bearing Installer) with MB990938.
  2. Oil seal installation procedure — tool MB990938, MB990927.

Note: coat the outside lip with axle grease before installation.

(verify printed p.212) — tool numbers MB990938, MB990926, and MB990927 are printed clearly but do not appear in the front-axle special tools table (Front Axel Specifications & Tools); confirm these against the full tool catalogue before ordering.
