Throttle Body Removal

Drain coolant before proceeding.

Component removal

  1. Disconnect accelerator cable.
  2. Disconnect vacuum hose.
  3. Disconnect water hoses.
  4. Disconnect TPS sensor connector (DOHC and SOHC A/T).
  5. Disconnect Idle Speed Control (ISC) servo connection.
  6. Disconnect air duct (B).
  7. Remove attachment bolts and the throttle body unit.
  8. Remove gasket and discard.
  9. Install in reverse order.

Note: never reuse gaskets — they must always be replaced.

Torque values called out on this page’s diagram (fastener assignment not confirmed — verify printed p.139):

  • 9 N·m (0.9 kgf·m; 80 in-lb)
  • 4 N·m (0.4 kgf·m; 35 in-lb)
  • 5 N·m (0.5 kgf·m; 44 in-lb)
